Here's a tractor being advertised as an 8N....but it's obviously a 2N or 9N. I think the guy knows the difference, too.....because in the description, he says: "It's got 3 forward speeds and one reverse....which makes it a 4-speed"!

And it's getting bid up pretty good!

You're forgetting neutral!

Now lets see....if your tractor is a 6V, and comes with a spare battery, then it's really a 12V.

If you put a picture of an army tank on the tranny, you can say it's a Sherman.

And if you punch a hole in just the right spot on the exhaust pipe, you can say it has heat.

On Oct-28-02 at 18:48:58 PST, seller added the following information:

After Listing, I realized I listed it as a Ford 8N. It is actually a Ford 9/2N Tractor. Thanks for all the emails

Oh.....Tyler! I didn't know that was you!

That is a nice looking tractor though! Maybe I should've painted my 9N that I sold on Ebay (or put a higher Buy It Now price)- sold mine for $1775 (the guy just picked it up an hour ago, too)

I just copied and pasted some info from Ebay that was below his original description. He made a mistake and was correcting his error.

Tyman w/o a tractor on Ebay :-)

Must be a hybrid- probably the front end and motor from an 8, and the tranny and rear of a 9.

I've seen a few like that lately.

Look toward the bottom of the page-the fellow corrected himself and identifies it as a 9N/2N.

Mike, I emailed the guy, telling him it wasn't an 8N- He added that at the bottom, so I guess he must be honest....just didn't know any better.

Hehe....yeah, I forgot to mention the "live PTO"! I thought maybe it might have a Zane Live Thang installed....but since the guy didn't know what kind of tractor it was....I doubt he'd know if it had a Live Thang!
