Those were the best years of my life, got to see a whole lot of interesting aircraft on trips we went to. Some of the places we took trips to were

1.Syracuse NY
2.Toronto, Ontario-to see the old lancaster restoration.

There were more but i cant think of any!!

Seeing the P-51 (D, I think) in the background stirred a thought (!) about wartime production of the P-51. Was all P-51 production done by North American or was some 'farmed out' to other manufacturers? According to the Hist. Channel and various readings, GM eventually took over production of TBM Avengers to allow Grumman to concentrate on the F6F, Ford (Willow Run) made B-24's, etc. but I don't recall how the massive production of the P-51 was handled. Anyone?

The belt isn't broken, it's just off the pulley. By the way, its a Woods rm72 mower!

The 8N is hooking a tow bar to pull the pilotless plane back to the hangar. He must have ran out of gas on the taxiway since the gas gauge reads empty.(%^)

Probably the airplane.
Is this a plane that was manufactured at the Ford Willow Run plant?

The Plane is a North American P-51 Mustang. I am not sure where they(Mustangs) were made, but I think Ford's plant made B-24 Liberators, a four engine bomber. Take care! Fireman
