How about after the installation of a live thang, invent a live PTO driven by a hydraulic motor that installs in place of the original hyd pump.

Get workin' on it. ;-)

It would work if you have a big enough volume pump to drive the 540 PTO hydraulically but my live thang pump won't do it. It is the same volume as the belly pump. About 2 gpm.

Struck Manufacturing who produces the "Magnatrac" has a hydraulicly driven 540 pto motor with a standard shaft available. You would just need to be able to mount and plumb it.

My 2 cents.

gotta mount it in front of the clutch, otherwise as soon as you mash the clutch pedal, it quits. Now if you ran the PTO pump off a Zane Live Thang front-mounted pump, with a short shaft aft of the scotch-yoke pump and not connected to it, you could do it. A 540 rpm PTO pump costs between $400-500.

BG, That's what we are talking about. Removing the stock pump and tossing it. Mounting the HYD PTO motor in it's cavity and driving it with a live pump.

For it to be a live pto, it would have install on the engine side of the clutch. To install it in place of the current pump, it would still stop when the clutch was engaged. It would be possible to design one that was flywheel driven, but at what cost?
