Hey all -

I have been working hard on my (wife's) '46 2N. I am the one that posted about the color of the 2N. I found gray on the sheet metal, but only light blue and red on the motor/trans cases.

I have the sheet metal off and about done repairing all the dents. It will not be perfect, but good for a tractor. The fenders and hood have been hit very hard over the years.

Waiting for the manifold to come in, will rewire the tractor, need to order a radiator (something hit the top of the hood and smashed the hood and radiator), then paint it all back.

Question - there are four small holes spaced across the bottom "rib" on the front of the hood. Is there a trim piece that fits there? I see the oval for the Ford emblem.

I will tell you - these tractors are a HOOT to work on. It is simple, parts cheap, and, well, just plan fun. Spent hours grinding old paint (four layers) and hammering out dents with a smile on my face. My wife even commented on my good mood the last week.

Learning a TON from this forum - keep up the good work and have a great day!

Phil

The holes were someone's quick fix to keep the grille from falling out by wiring it in.

Hey Bama - real close, I am in Huntsville. The tractor came from Eufaula, AL. Is your N a show piece or worker?

It's a worker, but I did tear it down and repaint it. Soon as I got finished I put it to work mowing and never have put the decals on or installed the head lights. After the holidays I swear I'm gonna pull her in the garage and finish.

Not sure about your exact location but could it be the holes for the "Ferguson System" badge on the front? Just below the Ford oval?

You are right-this forum is great and N's are just plain fun. You have to factor that into everything too!

Good Luck!
