Christmas came and left me with a set of CADplans for a front loader for my 48 8n. I use the tractor for light work around the house and a loader would make my life easier. I've read all the arguments for and against them and for my purposes I think a light loader would work well. After looking at the plans, however, they leave a little to be desired, like a plan for mounting it to the tractor. I called the guy and he said to just bolt somewhere on the front. So, I would like to know where on the front I should bolt this sub frame to. On the axle pivot bracket there are two bolts underneath the radiator, would these two be acceptable, or should I bolt it where that bracket bolts to the engine? Also, is there a pre made bracket for another loader that I could modify for my own purposes? Does anyone have a photo or description of the front bracket that is on their loader that they could share with me? Thanks, Andy

Hey Andy. Here's a few pages from the owner's manual for a Dearborn 19-22 FEL, which was mfg'ed for the 8N. Hopefully they will give you some ideas on how to mount your loader:

Here is a photo of the front mount for my Dearborn loader. Sorry for the amount of crud-I took it before I cleaned and repainted the tractor.

So that half moon piece is welded around the pivot hole on the front axle support bracket? seems simple enough. Thanks Mike

No! The plate is not welded to the front axle mount on the tractor. It is welded to the alxe support pin. On the wagner set up, the mounting plate is only bolted over the original pin no changing of the original pin was required.
