Just copied a picture of the current state of my tractor overhaul/rebuild to the Tractor Pics Photo Gallery, can't figure out how to link it here.

I am in the back half of the tractor now, rebuilding the pump, lift and brakes.

Can anyone give me an idea what to look for re: wear in the pump? All four of the pistons have light scoring, looks like they were scratched with sandpaper. The scoring is very even all the way around each piston and all four are in similar condition.

The pump and lift did work, but didn't have much power, struggled to lift my 5' bush hog, all the while making a clunk clunk clunk noise. And the lift leaked down in a matter of minutes.

I'm thinking I will do a complete overhaul (except chambers) on the pump. And replace the lift piston with the NAA piston and O-Ring setup.

Am going to do a brake job too, one side didn't even have an oil seal in it, guess that explains why no brakes on that side, huh?

Your tractor looks great. I am repainting and making all needed repairs on a 1947 2n. serial # is very hard to read on block. All sheetmetal is primed blocked and sealed. I plan on painting it this weekend. What color and manufacture is the paint on yours?

It started out grey, somewhere along the line it got painted ford blue on the engine, transmission, and differential. Hood was light gray (Probably 8N grey) when I got it.

I have been degreasing, cleaning, and painting each part as I take something apart. Been repainting it with 'Duplicolor' Medium Grey spray paint I get at the auto parts store. I know thats not the correct color but its close enuf for me.
