I just had my hydraulic lift cylinder overhauled. Placed it back in to see if works. Nope..the same thing happening. Tractor won't lift high enough...less than 2 feet from ground with disc on. Put in new fluid, too. Was I suppose to adjust something inside??? Had a hard time with the lift cover, too. Looks like I have to start over again. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The lift is out of adjustment. Probably because of a worn out cam follower pin (dowel)

This pin receives little or no lubrication and will eventually wear down in all cases resulting in a lift that won't go to the top.

See my web site for information on the lift etc.

Regarding viewing the archives, go to main page for this discussion board and you will find it as an option at the top of the page. You might look for "Zane" as he sells adjustment instructions and a "key" for same. When you reinstall your lift cover have a friend to help. Don't try to do it by yourself. (You can remove it yourself, but reinstalling is a two person job to make sure it doesn't damage anything and the gasket, etc., seats correctly.) It is much much easier with a buddy. When you have it off, check the cam follower pin. If it is worn even slightly it will cause lift problems. Zane or NH both sell replacements.

You are going to have to take the lift cover off to make the linkage adjustments.
Make sure you know how to remove the lift cover or you can damage the backpressure valve and the NH dealer wants $250 for a new one.
Lots of info in the archives on removing lift cover.
Jim

Roger:
You need the "Ford Tractor NAA Service Shop Manual.
That manual will walk you through the linkage adjustment that you need to do to get your lift to function over the full range that it was designed for. I believe my Jubilee lift will lower the drawbar to about 8"from the graound and raise it to about 38". I will have to double check the dimensions but if your hydraulics will raise your implement partially up it is the adjustment of linkage that you need to do. You need the manual I mentioned to walk you through the adjustment. It is just too complicated to explain without pictures.
After getting the manual I will gladly give you some guidance to ensure you don't break something while making the adjustment. It is really not very difficult but must be followed to the letter and understood. Because you will be working with the cover turned upside down it is easy to make a mistake.
You can email me if you want.
Jim
