Man I swear some people should not own anything mechanical. Guy brought a 8n here for an oil change, said I cant understand the oil pressure started getting worse, it used to be good,I said I would check it out. I drained the oil figured I would check the lines.filter. and go from there, well I think I found the problem quicker than I ever thought,, 2 quarts of oil,in the pan and filter canister, changed filter. put the 6 quarts in, 40 lbs of pressure now,,, does not sound to be rapping,, but time will tell.. I want to show him where the dipstick is before he leaves now,,

You may have thrown away the "Original" motor oil.
You could have probably sold it on E-Bay. They pay a lot for "Original" anything.

Maybe he was testing Slick 50's claim that it will run an engine without oil.

... the dipstick? LOL Amazing what having a sufficient amount of oil in your engine will do.

I'm just amazed how much abuse the engine can take. Both my father and brother have no concept of checking oil. I hear them drive by with the engine all rattly, chase them, shut it off and pour a few quarts into it. They've been doing that for 15 years!!@#$%^ --- the old girl still runs well.

My dad checked the oil in his Ford pickup often...but NEVER changed it. I used to cringe when I saw that. Think he DID change a filter once or twice, when it was new, but only the filter. That engine outlasted him. Bob in NY
