Real nice job on the battery cover. What all did you have to do to restore it? What kind of paint and how was it applied? I see now (after I bought a NOS tag & chain) that reproductions are now available for about 1/2 of what I paid. Yours looks to be in real nice shape.

Where did you find a safety chain reproduction? Just 8N's has 3 originals for 50 bucks a piece, too rich for me. Thanks for any info, Jim

The cover had a few dents in the middle and a rear corner was folded down a little. I sandblasted it and wooled it. The paint is just a rattle can job. If the part has a smooth surface and the paint and the part are warm you can get a nice job most of the time.

What does the lift tag make reference to? What do you fasten it to?

The warning tag chain fastens one end to the RH drawbar stay arm and the other ends has a little 'L' bracket that fastens on the lift control arm quadrant. Purpose: To ensure that lift control arm isn't raised when the stay bars are in place. This might happen when the PTO is in use and the drawbar is in a fixed position.
