I finally got my lift tag cleaned up and painted. I think Ford would have painted it all grey, but i painted the chains with metal paint. I do not have my tractor close. Can any of you explain (any better than the tag) How the part gets installed on the quaderent? Or is there someplace i can look to see a picture? Thanks for any advice. Patrick.

I dont know but our 8N has the same tag, in fact I know it is the orginal tag because Grandad purchased the tractor new. However it has been painted several times. The tag is attached to the tractor not the drawbar arms as pictured. In fact I cannot remember when if ever they were attched any where elese but the tractor.

patrick, The Quad has a "STOP" used for setting a limit and the stop has a wing nut... you slip
the wedge under the wing nut..

hope this helps

Patrick, there is a funny looking stop device with a 10/32 stud sticking out of it that gets a washer & wingnut. This stop assembly has it's stud stuck thru the quadrant slot so it's oriented crossways to the lift handle. (Hard to 'splain but when you see it, it makes sense.) The slot area slides under the washer and the angled part keeps the lift handle at the bottom of the quadrant. Seems kind of 'futzy' to intall but it does the job. duey

The whole thing would have been zinc or cadmium-plated, not painted. Ed Gooding probably has a picture that shows how the clip attaches at the quadrant end.

Thanks. On the carpet is ok if it is clean and small. A spotless, painted trans. case would be different!
