How common is the FOUR blade pusher fan on the 9N? Anyone have one?

Ford introduced the four or 6 balde puller fan as a means to keep the operator warm in the winter by pulling the heat of teh engine toward the driver. That's what one of my original ads shows in a picture diagram.

They came from the factory on all 1939-1941 9N's, the 4 blade pull was dealer installed, in 1942 the late 9N's (that is why the 6 blade has a 9N part# instead of 2N) and all 2N's came through with the 6 blade, most early ones have been changed to the 6 blade for better cooling.

My 42 has a 4 blade 'pusher'. I thought they were common to all 9n's and that they all had that type of fan blade. Ron

I don't know how common they are now, but the 4-blade PUSHER fans were OEM on '39 and '40 9Ns. The 4-blade PULLER fan was sold as an option.

Eddie, I can remember noticing only one other than the one I have and that one was on a show tractor. Peterson and Beemer's Originality Guide, not known for extreme accuracy by the way, indicates many of the four blade pusher fans were replaced to "alleviate engine overheating". Thus my question. Just wondered if this was just so much journalistic 'fluff' or if there was a problem and how many 4 blade pusher fans survived on working tractors.
