I have been struggling to get my 3pt. to lift properly since I got this 2N back together last
winter. It would lift but only a few pounds. I did
everything I could think of. I did the diesel flush twice. I pulled the side plate off(lever side) several times to observe. Nothing to indicate a problem-until I took off the side plate
on the other side(Dipstick side). There was an obvious leak. I pulled the pump and disassembled it. It turns out that I installed the gasket on that side of the pump backward. I put in new gaskets and the lift works great. I plowed snow
this morning. I guess that sure pays to pay attention to detail!!

I have all my mistakes stored in a condensed folder...Had to put them on a 700MB CD as my puter would not store them..

Steve, this forum doesn't have the time or space to start an accounting of *DUMB MISTAKES* we've all made...Me?, I'd be typing all night long!!! :-)) Come to think of it... ALL my mistakes could fit the category of DUMB!!! Can't think of one single mistake where I thought later..."Hey, that was a smart mistake!!!"

Still, I gotta agree with you, a 'wrong-installed' gasket is worse than no gasket at all!! Hard to beat the satisfaction of fixing a problem... even if you created it!!!! duey
