I don't want to take credit for this because all I did was just getting someone who would take the time to help. I sent a copy of some of the archives like the one Ed Gooding (VA) had posted and some of the others in to Monroe. I was connected with a guy in technical support and here is the e-mail I received, I hope it will help.
" Thank you for your interest in Monroe products. The information you
supplied to me was outstanding(that was the archives). I've been able to dig up some old
information and from that, match you a shock. The shock that I found
matches physically and dimensionally, it is part number 66120. This shock
is a cab shock for a heavy duty truck. The 66120 extends at 8.50" and
compresses at 6.50", the outer dirt shield diameter is 2.02" and reserve
tube diameter 1.75". The dampening ability of the shock is also the same.
The only difference I encountered was in the mounting eyes. The original
had 5/8" ID bushings and the 66120 has 12mm. You will have to press out
the bushings from the 66120 and replace them with bushing number 45540
(this can be speci
al ordered through your local NAPA Auto Parts store)."

Go to the archive, key word search "Monroe shock" and that should bring up all that is there. Look at Ed G(spell?) from VA he had a picture in his posting of an old ad. His posting last fall or spring.
