Bob, here is a close up of the top link attachment point on the belt pully. I have over a dozen close up pictures of this set up. Let me know if you need more. Philip.

I have never seen one of these in action but the look DANGEROUS as he!!. I can just picture a 3 or 4 foot piece of oak coming at me from this thing. I guess with enough cars and caution they are safe? but I personally dont think I would want to be around when it was operation.

The original top link was 2 flat pieces of steel bolted together with balls on either end.
We sawed all of our wood on one of these back in tyhe 40's. Every small town in Michigan had someone who had either lost an arm or a hand from operating one of these. I have thought about getting one of these buzz saws but decided that the danger compared to cutting with a chainsaw was not worth it.
I will let other people have them.
Jim

Im with you on that. My first wifes father used to sharpen fence posts with one. I saw the saw grab the post and throw it into the air. I never saw how high it got. I was too busy getting to other parts before the fence post got there. Also the drop off pieces would wedge into the blade a gain wings. Not for me, no sir.

Of course you have a pulley, right?? There is a small bracket that mounts ON the pulley, and a 'V' shaped brace that attaches from the saw rig to that bracket. And you use the lower arms, too.

When you raise the three point, a saw rig doesn't just lift straight up, it really rolls forward, kind of nestles in between the fenders.

I recall it had a tilting table, and worked fairly well, but the belt seemed kind of slippy. Don't have any pictures on hand for you... duey
