48 8N Compression test results

Board Members, I did a comp. check., Look at these #'s for me please.

COLD TEST DRY wet 1 100 105 2 100 110 3 100 115 4 100 120

I have oil getting to the plugs on #3 and #4.
And I can only keep her running for a few min's.

Also, check your wires to see if they are copper core. It helped mine with your readings and symptoms. HTH

The raw numbers suggest that the engine has adequate compression; assuming fuel and air and spark are correctly provided then it should run fine.

Sometimes an engine with very bad oil control, typically due to broken oil rings, will exhibit reasonable compression on one of these tests because it leaves so much oil on the cylinder walls that the extra oil seals the compression rings. But then, typically, the readings don't go up much with oil dumped in the sparkplug hole. Doesn't seem to be the case with your measurements.

One long-shot guess -- are you sure you haven't mis-wired the sparkplugs as 1-2-3-4 instead of the (correct) 1-2-4-3? Cylinders that don't fire for whatever reason tend to build up gas and oil on the sparkplug electrode. (Firing at the top of the exhaust stroke does not "count" insofar as cleaning the crud off the plugs).
