Is there a site that sells ROPS for an 8N? Thanks for all the help all the time and happy holidays. Paul

Probably the best place to start would be your FNH dealer. They can directyou to manufacturer or sell you one. $400-600 total with shipping.

They don't look at "beefy" as a ROPS on a, say, Ford 3000, and there were some comments on whether or not the axel castings would snap off in a (rear?) flip, but they're supposed to be safety tested by the feds, etc. Check archives on this or email me, and I can do some 'diggin' for you.

Of course, I try to avoid getting close to flipping. And I like being belted in, especially when doing jarring work.

good luck!

ROPS is an acronym that stands for Roll Over Protection Structure. Basically a roll bar. You'll notice that all modern tractors sold today have either a roll bar or a cab to protect the operator in the event the tractor rolls or flips. There has been some posts about ROPS available for the N tractor.....I seem to remember that they were available as retrofit items from FNH at one time, maybe they still are. One thing you have to remember is that a ROPS is more dangerous than no ROPS if you don't combine it with a seat belt. Unless you are firmly attached to the seat, a ROPS is just another piece of metal that can crush you.
