"Me"-Darren Elliott

I was always the forgotten one
i fought my wars but never won
but unlike all of the other guys
they never stare at the sun

I can say that my life really sucks
wherever i go i just cant get any luck
im starting to go to school
to stop myself from lookin like a fool

im just not ready to be dating
ill probably be negotiating
my life

Hi Darren, You haven't been around the forum lately, which has caused us some concern. Your poem is kind of downbeat, but it shows some aptitude for writing and composing. It is nice to be noticed by the publishers, but do NOT let it get you down if the poem is not published. Try again, maybe with a longer composition and a more upbeat theme. Very few of us were ever successful with the first effort that we made with anything. Hope your situation is continuing to immprove. What course of study are you pursuing in school?
Your friend, DickTN

Darren you should be saying something like, You were raised on a farm having fun and not in the Getto like a lot of other kids. You got to ride and work on tractors not like the kid who had to dig thru trash to get there food like in other countrys. Had the fun of going to Tractor Shows, given the chance to go to School to learn. So many positive things to think of instead of the negitive ones. Life has many obsticals in the way that is what makes you a man by over coming them! You have a lot of things to be gratefull for and should look at those. You have your arms and hands to do things with along with your legs to get around on. Don't let your self feel sorry grab life by the horns and take a ride you are young and healthy that is something alot of older people would would give everything they acomplished in life to have again. Think about it you have a lot going for you. Mark H.

Now write a good one showing how things are changeing for the better. Allways look for the good points in life. We all have bad days and things that go wrong. Your a good kid and don't let life get you down. Keep on Tractoring! Mark H.
