Replaced the old, sludgy hydraulic fluid with NH 134. Now, the lift arms will not go all the way down, instead stay about 15 inches off the ground. Prior to the fluid change, the arms dropped all the way down. What has happened, and what suggestions do any of you have?

Their should be no reason why changing the oil would make the lift do this. I would think something else has happened and the fact that you changed the oil is just a coincedent.

I once tightened a bolt in a lady's front bumper and the transmission quit working. Try to figure that one out! Better yet try to explain it to a woman!

Murphy's law comes to mind.

Rick..... ...I'm not a N-Hydraulics expert, but if'n I could, I'd hang an implement from the 3-point arms and cycle it up and down as many times as I could and then let set overnight and see if the fluid will leak out and lower the implement.

Ya' musta' done something like getting a hydraulic air lock in the cylinder? Donna' know if that is possible. Just a WAG..... .Dell

Have had a full load on the 3-point, and the arms will not move all the way down. Thought about an airlock, but, the hydraulics work fine otherwise.
Think I'll let it go for a while, and if it doesn't straighten up (heal itself?) maybe it will get worse so that the source of the problem can be pinpointed. Thanks.

IIRC after overhauling my hydraulic system last summer I had a similar symptom. I fixed it by adjusting the quadrant placement. Loosen 4 bolts and move quadrant forward or back until arms had full range of motion. HTH Steve 8N 169302
