Having a load of fun with the 2 bottom plow. Took a while to get the hang of it. Managed to get one stabalizer bar on the plow. Did not take long to see it works better with no stabalizer bar. More fun than disney world. Ye Ha

Rusty,

I agree!

About a week ago I used the scarifier teeth on my box blade to break up my pasture to plant some grass using my 48 8N. At first I left it in position control mode. Sometimes it would dig in and almost stall the tractor. Other times it would not dig in enough. I then switched to draft control mode. What a difference! After playing with it a little, I was able to evenly break up the ground with no problems. This was the first time I had tried draft mode. It works just like it was designed to do.

After planting the seed, I drove around with my box blade with the blade turned around to cover up the seed. I can't wait for the grass to come up IF we get any moisture here in Colorado!

Danny

One of the best posts I ever read on this forum had to do with plowing.
As Dell has said many times about these Ns, they were "plowing fools".
This one is about a Jubilee, but I think it still has something in it that you'll like.

Rusty,

Glad to hear that you had fun! Also good to have someone try plowing with and without the stabilizer bar and find out what I've been told. You shouldn't plow with a stabilizer bar. The forces you encounter will make a pretzel out of the bar if you catch something with the plow.

The N's do plow don't they!! I had a bunch of pictures up on Photopoint (now gone!) that showed a large area I plowed. Pulled the top soil off with my back blade and then plowed the NASTY Virginia clay that was underneath. Then I pulled it up into a pile higher than the N with the back blade. I was trying to get rid of a ridge that ran along the edge of my rear right of way. Got to get them up on the web again.

Regards,
Larry
