how fast do should these tractors spin over when starting them? reason for the question is that mine seems to be turning over real slow. think i might need to pull the starter, she's hangin up on me.

Before you spend a lot of $$$ on a new starter, check your cables sizes and connections: clean, bright and tight. 12 volt car cables are too small in diameter. Also, you don't want cables that are too long.

Rick it seems to me that I read somewhere that you need to spin the engine up to about 150 rpm for it to start. Keep in mind that the starter must spin much faster than that due to the large diameter flywheel vs the very small starter gear. I just replaced my starter, first I did an amp draw check and found it was drawing almost 600 amps. Put in new starter and drive unit and now she's as good as new.
