Tie-rod end seals

replacing seal at steering end,this is a 2n tractor,got old seals off and cleaned up now the new seals seem to be too small in diameter.
1-new seal =.420
2-tie-rod end is =.440
3-no way that seal is streching that far?
4-ruin both sets of seals
5-any good replacements?
6-YES i did use a back-up and pipe over seal to install
7-need help guys===== ==BOB

Bob..... ...You might try the 4-finger rubber donnut stretcher like I use to casterate lambs with, $20.

But heres a cheaper IDEA, boil'em in hot water and they'll probably stretch just fine while hot. Be quick, leather gloves....etc.... Also reminds that boiling the rubber tranny shifter boot makes for eazy installation there too. BTW, water is a rubber lube..... ..Dell

Dell this is the grease seal at steering colunm end of tractor,this old baby has the one peice LONG drag link,end is replaciable only at front.
these seals where leather
replacing with rubber ones with metal rings
come on Dell help this old guy out! thanks

Sorry, your seal description doesn't grind any gears ...er... ring any bells (grin) with me. Unless you can "quote" seal p/n and p/n of what the seal is mounted on, I'm outta ideas..... ..Dell
