I am looking for replacement cylinders for my Wagner loader. I have power up gravity down cylinders now that have a closed pin lenght of 30" and extended lenght of 58". I have found a stock cylinder that has a closed pin lenght of 28" and an extended lenght of 58". So far as I can tell, with my limited hydraulics knowledge, the 2" less closed pin lenght should not be a problem. Any opinions on this would be appreciated. While we are on the subject, The new hydraulic cylinders seem to have skinnier rods than the old ones. The original wagner cylinders have 2" rods and about 2 1/2" tubes. The cylinders I am seeing seem to have 2" tubes with 1 1/2" rods. Is this a good replacement or do I need to have 2" rods? Also, as I understand it these older cylinders have no rod end seal and rely on displacemnet of the whole rod to operate as opposed to a new cylinder that has a rod end seal and is diplaceing only the end of the rod. Is this the reason for the smaller diameter of the rods? Thanks for the help, Andy
