number 5 Ford. Couldn't stand it much much more. Picked up my 5th Ford tractor in 2.5 years and I am now believing that once you get this Ford tractor stuff into your blood it's in there and it ain't moving.

Saw a nice 801 Selecto for sale at a fair price for the condition it was in. I'm in New Hampshire and the tractor is in Sioux City, Iowa. It still has the original and rare 801 Series front emblem on it, and it has been meticuloulsy cared for. Sheetmetal is near perfect on fenders and hood. New tires, Woods 6 foot bush hog mower (I don't need..interested?). Oil pressure is running at 65 idle and all original gauges work.

But I needed a 703 Front End Loader. So, a photo ad had one coincidentally for sale in Robins, Iowa on the east side. Now I need to mate the two, and that's a long ways to develop a courtship. But I think I can get the tractor hauled to Iowa.

But here's the rest of the story...

The purchaser of the 841 I recently sold is driving up from Colorado. He said he would pick up the tractor and loader in Robins, Iowa, drive it to NH, and picking up the 841 to haul back to Colorado and eventually to Texas.

Something's not right...it usually doesn't work this easy.

9N'er....we need you around here telling stories. When you sold that Elanco, I thought you'd lost your mind. I know you, you won't be able to leave well enough alone.

Take Care
Steve

I know the feeling...bought a cheap, non-running '50 side mount for light farm duty. Then my neighbor wanted to get rid of a '49 with a loader and a Sherman hi-lo - and I just had to have the Sherman for the '50....then I found a Funk 6 cylinder cheap and..... ..the boneyard down the way has this very old 9n...

Better than spending it in the bars!

Someday Salmoneye, I'll have to sojourn down to your neck of the woods to flex my elbow and have a cold one with you, and bring Brian2N along too.

I am more than ready for a cold one...Swore off on the 11th of January...Told myself I had too much to do to get ready for the season, and that I would drink with the first drawoff from the evaporator...

Well...Here I sit...Still waiting for a run...And I am getting darn thirsty, I tell you what...

Don't feel bad 'Ner, I picked up my 12th a month or so ago, a neighbor of mine says it's catchin', but doesn't hurt anything.

Sounds like you're lucky with not having to take a road trip, mine never seem to work that way.

Luck with the new guy.

to be true what makes you think this fellow
won't do a 180 in Iowa after he's all loaded?

If he does a 180 I'm "stuck" with a fully restored 841 Elenco that looks too purty to use. A trade (planned for or not) that I would make aNy day.

But, with all of the $ tied up in the Elenco, it makes sense to have a less valuable tractor with less $ tied up for our needs at this time. Perhaps someday, down the road, I'll git me an Elenco if I need it. But, what I would like to find some day is a Model A pickup truck.

And, if I ever need a blood transfuion? I'll tell the Doctor it's type "N" in me and it's stuck in there (N for tractor). 9N'er
