well got all the tin off.pulled radiator, and got everything cleaned up.had to rattle can her for the paint. but that was cool, its turning out nice, even for a rattle can job. had to paint it that way because at this time i dont have the facility's to paint her right, also dont have the time. its been a lot of fun, and has allowed me to get to know the tractor a lot better. i'll finish up the paint job tomorrow and put all the new wiring in. my wife is gone on the weekends, she's an r.n. and took a job in lawton,it was a contract worth a lot of money,so it gets pretty lonely around here.man workin on that tractor sure has helped. i dont even miss ridin bikes,in all honesty i was thinkin today how i was glad that i have the tractor instead of the bikes. listen i want to thank all of you for the help that you've given me. this site is more than a place where i come to learn. its the only site that i know i can go to and be around ( so to speak) some really decent men. thanks you guy's. be safe. rick craig

Sorry Rick,
I mis-understood your post. By habit, I was thinking about FEDERAL TAX FORMS, last night when I read your insert. The "habit" is going 500 mph. at times, if not for real, sometimes only in my brain.

There is a small town in IOWA, called "Lawton".
So, happens my ex-son-in-LAW"s people are from there. Down here in Pensacola, I stumbled in to some people from NEVADA, Iowa. These people are the next door neighboors to my GRANDAUGHTER, even though they only live 25 miles from her.

So, it is becoming harder to try to git away with some of the things we used to do, now. Some of the "tales" of us OLD MAIL POUCH pilots are now coming true to "haunt US". The older lady that I spoke of from NEVADA is just 1 (one) of my EX-WIVES.!!!!! !!!!

Becareful and HAVE FUN with your CAVU projects.

Alot of us here have rattle can jobs on our tin. And as you found out.. as long as the tin is fairly servicable.. the paint don't look too bad!

Glad to see you spending time with the N!

Hi Rick,

Well, in Pochantas, Iowa the statue (for a better word) looks like she could use some touch'n up. If that is not too far away from you., all you have to do is stop in the PUBLIC LIBRARY, there and they, the LIBRAY personnel can give YOU the historic publication that I paid for on my last visit about 3 yrs. ago. I stopped in the village on a misson to check-out 1, Big Propellers in Cherokee, and, a small window PANE bunch .

Hope this helps.

PS: If you break-down in the county, simply call 911. And, tell the operator you own a N and that I sent ya.

I know what it is like to be all alone on the week-ends, especially when the weather is CAVU.

iowa? man thats a piece from where i live. i worked there once, a long time ago. i worked in atumwa(cant remember spelling) for IBP. didnt take me long to figure out i was working for the wrong people.they came clear down to tulsa,ok.to recruit people to work up there, that should of been my first clue. the oilfield was played out so's i took the job. liked the country though, looks a lot like oklahoma.liked seeing the snow, i still miss it every once in a while. that town sounds like the one i live in. if you blink when you drive through it and miss it, then its the same. be safe. rick craig
