Anyone seen this problem... in draft mode, lift system will not fully lift the lift arms... only a few inches. If I press downward on the position control lever, the lift snaps up to full upp position. My mechanic, an old time N fixer, has not seen this. He has adjusted according to the book and variations there of. Both of my Jubilees do the exact same thing.

Hmm. Let me get what you say right. If you are in draft mode, the lever is horizontal. Then you push down on it and the lift comes right up? Position control on the NAA is done by pulling the lever straight up. Have you tried that? Later hundred series tractor used horizontal and down for setting the lift controls. Also, are you using the original vane type pumps or the later replacement piston pumps. if the the vane type, one book I have says you could have it set too high. don't know that much about this yet, am planning on overhauling my NAA hydraulics sometime in the future (read, as long as they continue to do okay, the further in the future it will be)

Mike, Thanks! It is in draft mode. Position control works just fine. One Jubilee has the older vane pump which also has an auxilary pump on it that drives a live PTO clutch (rare). The other Jubilee has the newer pump. You can pus the position control lever down lower than the draft control setting, but it will not stay there... like it is spring loaded. When you do this, the lift snaps to full up if the height control lever is in full up. Otherwise, it will not lift at all in draft control. Both Jubilees behave the same way.

Hmm. In draft position my system will not lift up very high either. It will lift up some tho. In draft position, the drag on the implement is what makes the hydraulic system sense that it needs to lift the implement when the going gets too deep. My lever will not go past the down setting to do what you say yours does. Maybe there is some sort of keeper pin that is worn on yours. I'm not where I have a diagram of the hydraulics. I'll look when I get back.

I guess I am confused by my 8Ns. Both of these lift completely while in draft mode as long as you bring the adjustment lever to the full up position. My Jubilees only lift a few inches at best. You need only to push the position control lever down a very small amout while in draft mode (horizontal position)... probably a half inch or less to get it to do this and it definitely feels like it is spring loaded.
