what is the ZANE THANG? Where can I get a picture of this device? I think it might help me control my brush hog better, as one side droops and scrapes the ground. All help is always appreciated!

Robb. Your hog shouldn't be digging in at the corners unless you have it set real low. Level it up using the leveling mechanism attached to the right lift arm. Put the tractor on level ground and turn the level mechanism either in or out until the hog is level. Use stabilizer chains mounted on the front of the hog to set the front height of the hog. Also use stabilizer bars on each side of the brush hog three point connections. If you use the above parts and keep it level, you will have solved all of the problems you mentioned. Be careful, they are dangerous as is anything associated with your tractor. Also, on the left side of this post are several good articles on this. Go to Research & Info, click on Articles, under General informaion, scroll down to & click on Choosing, Mounting and using a Brush Hog type mower. Good Luck. Ron

on an 8N, limiter chains will set the bush hog at a predetermined height and level and keep it from going any lower. got mine at the local New Holland dealer.

Rob..... ..out of respect for Zane's intellectually property rights, (pat pend), there are NO PICTURES of Zane Thang. Its so simple to bootleg, yet very clever.

Its the best $80 you'll ever spend for your 9N/2N tractor that doesn't have position control like the 8N does. (the little flush handle under the 8N seat)

Don't beat the man out of his honestly earned dollar. 100% guaranteed, no questions asked if you're not satisfied, returnitt..... .....Dell

You're right Dell. Didn't mean to infringe on Zane's invention. I didn't realize that it was for a 9/2N. I have an 8N with sketchy hydraulics and my Brush Hog is all over the place, and difficult to control and I was looking for a quick fix (cheap). I suppose I need to bite the bullet and just fix my hydraulics....By the way, what does that thing under the seat do anyway?? (considering your hydraulics are working properly)

Handle under the seat (right side) is the draft, or position control leaver. Won't go into details, but it should be in the vertical position for above ground work such as bushhoging, allows you to position the lift at any height, and in the horizontal position for below ground use such as plowing.

Rob - if you have an 8N, you don't need a Zane Thang. Your tractor already has position control.

If it is keeping your brush mower from shifting side to side that you are having problems with, you might want to try stabilizer braces.
