New to board ,with a Jubilee purchased last Fall. Real good condition with a new 6' finish mower.
After looking over archives and "Tractor Resource" I was certain after scraping some paint away I would locate the serial #. Well so far all I've found is the # 43 stamped on the front left side of engine block a couple inches below the manifold. Is this the serial # ?
There is no naa # and the ID is not in the spot above starter? Machine a re-build ? replaced block?

Now that you know where to look, try using a mirror to reflect sunlight onto the spot. try it from several angles. A wire brush helps too and doesn't remove any ridges (light as they may be) from the stamping.

You might be surprised.

When I first looked for mine, I scraped paint away from the flat by the starter, and I found nothing. So I was not sure where the number was. Then one day, when the light was just right, I saw something out of the corner of my eye. Sure enough, in the right light, there they were. Right where they were supposed to be, on the flat by the starter. Sometimes, they didn't stamp those numbers in very deep, and they can be very faint.

As Matt and Mike stated, the number should be on the block or the flat area behind the starter. But I could not find a number in either area on my Jubilee either. If an early engine was swapped out with a later one and no one restamped the number, you won't find one. At least that's what I concluded why mine is missing.

If your Jubilee is 1 of about the first 26000 made the, serial # will be on the left side of the block at the front corner just below the head. You'll probably have to scrape or wire brush crud and paint to see it. That's where I found the # on mine. It read NAA 04187.

It is on the flat spot of the casting behind the starter and above the place where the starter gear would mesh with the ring gear on the flywheel. If you set a shot glass there it would not spill until you moved the tractor. It is probably hidden under the several coats of paint applied in the past 50 years since the tractor was new. Speaking of that: Happy 50th to your Jubilee. Mike -Iowa
