I am getting ready to fabricate mounts for a loader on an 8N, and would like to know if anyone can tell me what the exact dimension between the bottom bolt holes on the axle tubes. There are two in line on each side. They are around 37", but I can't really get a good measurement with everything on the tractor. Can anyone nail this down for me? Thanks very much.
Paul

Paul, Mine is stripped down to the nitty grit & with the aid of 2 straight edges I come up with the same measurment as you did. 37" center to center. Jim

Find a nice flat floor to set the tractor on, then use a plumb bob to transfer the points you need to measure to the floor surface. Mark the floor with a Sharpie, then move the tractor away and measure it with a yardstick or tape.If you use the same side of the bolt or the center of the bolt to drop your plumb bob from you will find the center to center measurement quite easily. Body guys used to do this all the time to measure frames.

Paul..... ..I'm certain what you've described makes perfect sense to you, unfortunately I flunked mindreading (just ask my ex-wife of 32yrs).

Make a cardboard template and transfer your mounting bolt spacing to the cardboard by pressure on cardboard. Measure twice, cut once..... ...Dell
