172 cu.in. indust. engine in Jacobson gang mower. I bought this for the engine, the mowers & hyd. cylinders are gone. My question: the hyd. pump runs off the cam as usual with same bolt pattern, & has a 5 gal. resvoir, this pump is completly diff. from the regular pump- how do I calc. the vol. & pres., etc. Thanks. P.S. the hyd. were only used to lift gangs, not run hyd. motors. BURT.

There were 2 different hydraulic pumps used on the 172 cu in engine. The early x00 series' had a vane pump like in this picture. The later piston pump was round. Is yours different from either of those two?

I'm sorry I don't have the answer to your original question about calculating volume on the pump. If it's a vane pump, that info may still be available in Ford manuals somewhere.
