My '44 2N has a heavy 5' Modern Mfg. brush-hog stuck in the up position. I can't get the position control lever to lower this unit, and I'm really worried about what kind of damage I'm doing to my hydraulics with this kind of weight 2' in the air. Is their a way to relieve the pressure and let the 3 pt drop down, or do I need to borrow my neighbor's forklift and remove the brush-hog first? Help!
Casey

yup sounds like what happened to mine once while backlade was attached while moving a lot of snow, and I ended up driving up the "hill" of snow,, I copuild not get it down manually at all. well I had to do waht was prescribed, go in the side plate, and get my hand way down in the "cold at the time" hyrdraulic oil, and release the control valve manually, then the blade came down normally, you might as well check to be sure your arms are connected correctly to the "t" on the bottom, iof they get out of alignment, that can cause this problem, as far as hurting your hydro's with the implement up, I dont see any worries there, it is stuck up there , there is no pressure holding it up, but be very careful when the presure releases, it could come down in one swoop, or may do like my blade nice and controlled, but be on the safe side and keep all limbs and feet out of the way, good luck,Pat

Take the round plate off the right side at the oil check. there is a lever inside take a long screw driver and move this lever foreward and backward. If this does'not let the lift down you have probally broken the ball off the end of the rod that goes into the control valve. Be carefull don't let it drop on you.
