The N engine does not come with cam bearings. I am sure that the block was bored to accept them.

If the block is not put in the cleaning vat solution you should not need to replace the cam bearings anyway. Who ever did this fix was one of those overkill freaks that just couldn't stand the thought of not having cam bearings! I have been rebuilding N engines for over 40 years and have yet to see one that needed anything done to the cam shaft bore in the block.

If it is put in the vat the vat chemicals will eat the babbet away but I would just clean the block and not vat it myself and go with the ones that are in it.

Your machine shop should be able to help you with that. I am new to the N, stuff so I have not heard of cam bearings in these motors. you may find a number on the old bearing. If not check bore and O.D. of cam and deduct clearence. Go to bearing book and try and find a match. Also check with bearing manufactor's and they may help. Redsheaders has been posted here and they know alot about ford flatheads (www.reds-headers.com)
A good machine shop could handel this also.
