Replacing radiator....

I was in the process of replacing my radiator when I posted a question wondering if I needed to take my hood off to do so. I got replies saying yes, I did.

Last weekend I began the project. I have found, at least with my 9n, that I could lift the hood up far enough on the end to be able to get the carriage bolts on the bottom set in without damaging any part of the hood. I didn't have much gas in the tank, so that helped in the lifting. All I took off was the shroud and the grill.

Is there anything I could have missed in not doing it with the hood off?
I have used the tractor all ready for several hours. It runs around 160* or even a little lower...

As long as you replaced the rubber pads under the raditator s/b okay, although I would worry I'd damaged fuel lines by moving the hood like that. Recheck 'em or you might be in for a fire.

That temp is too low and means you must either have a stuck (open) t-stat or none at all. Install a good one and run at 190* as you are supposed to. Your tractor will run better and you won't foul plugs as often.
