it aint a new n series, I still am keeping my two, 9n's, but I went and bit the bullet and bought a new holland tn 55 it is coming in tommorow, I think I am having the dealer load the tires,, but keep bouncing back and forth,,, this is a good thing to do right,, even though it is a pretty heavy tractor, they say around 4- 4500 lbs,, I think yes but am kinda iffy,,, I realized the 9n was not as beefy and secure on the hills of my property,,, especially with out live pto and draft control, still going to work the n's around the farm, hauling manure spreader, running log splitter, and such,, my 2 boys wont let me get rid of them,, sorry for the rant,, but wanted opinions, thanks pat

I'm with AB - try it first, you can always load the tires later if need be. Frank's suggested alternative sounds good if you need to load the tires.

imho

N - joy.

I'de leave it out Pat and try it first. Then if I had a traction problem I'de look to weights first. If not afordable them load em up. You can always add that CaCi but how will you know if ya did need it? Also it's just plain nasty stuff, change those valve cores every 10 years or so before they leak if ya load em. AB

Pat,
I've been using a fluid called Rim-Guard for the past 4-5 years. It's designed specifically to replace calcium chloride and is actually a rust inhibitor. Non-toxic, biodegradable, and good to like 30 below zero. It weighs approx 11 lbs per gallon. Cost is similar to CaCi here in Wisconsin, much cheaper than steel weights. I have mine loaded at Pomp's Tire.

While we are in a "confessing" mood, I must fest up. I'm at least a step lower than Pat. My new Kubota L3010 4x4, loader & bucket arrived today. That's all I'm EVER going to say about that. I still have my dad's 8N & my herd of parts tractors.....DaBrow
