Hello,

I just wanted everyone to know that I made the SAFE trip from Mississippi to Texas trailer my 8n tractor. I posted about a month ago, and with ALL the help I received I had a great trip.

I ended up buying a 16ft trailer with brakes on the rear axle, this was the only trailer in stock with brakes. The trailer and my 5.4L Supercrew pulled like a dream. I kept having to slow down the thing pulled so smooth.

Once again thanks for the help, I could have done it without this forum.

Good to hear you made it safe Prentice.
Lucky guy you are by the way.
I'd welcome a good road trip most anywhere right now. But one where I was going to fetch a tractor would be the best.
A lot of folks recognize these little Ns when you're out there on the Big Road don't they.
I'll bet you got a lot of smiles and waves.
Thanks for posting.

You are exactly right about the smiles and waves. I almost had to run a few guys off at a gas station, not to mention the guy that offered to buy my tractor and trailer on the spot. This guy wanted me to drop the trailer, let him hook up, and offered me a "NICE" price. Another older man looked like he was going to cry as he talked to me about the history on the Ford tractors and his experiences as a young boy in the 50's on his family's tractor.

It was an amazing trip!!!!! !!

Glad you made it! That 16' trailer ought to be fine with your N.

I was thinking about your pulling vehicle, and thought about something funny... My dodge ram 5.9l pulls great.. lots of excess power.. but ride isn't as smooth as my wifes yukon xl 5.3l.
I figured since my ride had the bigger engine.. mine would be better... nope.. here yukon is heavier than my ram... seems to make more difference than the power plant.. though the 5.3 doesn't act as if it is straining at all... go figure..

Glad you made it OK.
I know you will enjoy it there in Texas.
I too made it Ok with my two going from Mississippi to Missouri.
And have since picked up another one in Arkansas Via Ebay.
Then today I went back and picked up a loader and a 3 pt. forklift from the same guy.
Enjoy you N & Lone Star.

Carl
