My New Holland dealer here in Michigan is telling me that a coil clearly marked 12 volt will work on my 6 volt Jubilee. Though doubtfull, I bought the unit with the intent of asking the opinion of this board.
This is my first tractor that I bought just last fall to manage my 40 acres in Northern Mich. Unfortunately, it has sat in my woods all winter (covered)due to not being able to get it running after leaving it in the rain for a couple of weeks.
I'm heading 200 miles North tomorrow equiped with all that I think will be needed to get her running. New 6v battery, my rebuilt carb, points, plugs, wires, rotor, cap, condenser and this 12 volt coil. Please advise... Thanks

Randy..... ....FNH is now selling a universal, 1-size...er...X-volts fittzall ignition coil. And in truth, even tho it is labled 12 volts, it really is a 6 volt coil that needs a 12 to 6 volt converting resistor to work on a real 12 volt tractor. And the reason it will work on 6 volts is because it has a "high output sparkie" that turns into just a regular sparkie on 6 volts that they don't tell you about.

Bottom line, it'll work on 6 volts. But if you want a real 6 volt sparkie coil, get a 6 volt Volkswaggon coil. And if'n I remember correctly, you can even get a 6 volt "hot-rod" Volkswaggon sparkie coil that really does produce HIGH OUTPUT SPARKIES on 6 volts..... ....Dell

who reminds you, to grab a can of "ether quick start" for the difficult starts ahead
