I finished up the re-wire on my 8n today. I did not buy a wiring harness, but rather bought the wire ends and some shrink tube and soldered and crimped the ends on the wires and made the harness myself. I tested everything and then tied everything together neatly with small zip ties. Not only does it look good, but it functions flawlessly. Hopefully it will last a heck of a long time. I routed the wires in the same manner as the original harness. I used some heavy gauge wire I had on a spool. I think it is 10 gauge wire, but could be 12, I'm not too sure. I also replaced the Voltage regulator, and genny. While I was in there I noticed that the polarity of the ignition coil was reversed. Now that it is correct, she runs better than she ever did....starts easier too! I hardly have to choke it at all when it's cold! To make a long story short, I just wanted to jot a quick post to really thank everyone who helped me with the technical aspects of the VR and Genny wiring! Special thanks to Dell for being patient with me. I couldn't have done it with out ya'll! Great board, keep up the good work!
