This stuff really works! Oil Eater by Kafko International, box 589 Skokie, IL. Bought it at Costco to remove oil stains on my garage floor. Tried it on my really greasy 8N and couldn't quit. Now the old gal looks great.

Sprayed it on, brushed with an old toothbrush, and rinsed with garden hose. Brush even rinses clean when completely covered in thick sticky grease.

Biodegradable and non-flammable. Can also be used to pre-treat greasy clothes before washing.

I'm not selling the stuff, just really impressed at how well it works.

I have used mineral spirits very sucessfully to cut and remove grease. It will cut the grease, dries nicely and doesn't leave a residue. You can paint right away. Just another thing to try.

Sounds a little like Simple Green. Does Oileater work any better?

It does sound like simple green a bit.. though I've found that simple green isn't quite that agressive.. though 'that purple stuff' is.. You can spray it on, and the grease will liquify and run in a few minutes.. I used a hand sprayer of that prple stuff to walk around and pretreat my NAA, then waited and went back with a toilet bowl brush and a bucket of simplegreen/water combo and did the scrubbing.. worked great/left no residue, and i was able to paint right over areas that days before held handfulls of old greasy dirt.
