52 8n has both rear wheel hubs loose, nuts are tight and can still wobble the rear wheels. New spacers or do ya think the bearings are shot

Art,
You say that your axle nuts are tight, but still wobbles.
Did you torque the axle nuts to 450ft/lbs?
Axle nuts can seem "tight" at 100-150ft/lbs and the wheel will still wobble.
The shims set the preload of the bearings.(See John Smith's site at link below).
If bearings are OK and axle nuts are at proper torque spec. and wheels still wobble, you could try extra washers , but it isn't going to make the problem go away. Problem at that point is worn out hubs and/or axle shafts.

Art, Are the rear seals leaking? And how many shim { washers} are behind the nuts? If the seals aren't leaking and the rearend is full of grease, there's no reason a bearing should be out. Chances are your splines in your hub are getting wore from use. I've seen people put 3 and 4 washers behind the axle nut to tighten their hubs up. Just take your axle nuts off and put a washer or 2 behind them and retourque the nuts and see if this doesn't cure your troubles. John

Not sure of how many shims are installed, but there is no oil leaks at all. Would washers behind the large axle nut be ok.

Extra washer may work. Problem is if the drum is pushed too far into the brake shoes and brake return springs.
