I blew the gasket on my exhaust manifold today. Now Mr.Murphy seems to sit on my shoulder whenever I do any mechanical work. What kind of luck have you guys had with removing the manifold nuts without breaking the studs? I know that they are supposed to be brass nuts but I have no idea of the tractors history before I got it 5 yrs ago.

I just replaced mine and had no problems. Those brass nuts don't seize or rust but getting that muffler clamp in just the right position does take some time. That air cleaner pipe won't go on unless that clamp is turned perpendicular to the motor.

I would spray them with something like PB Blaster just to give you an extra edge. However, since they are brass they tend to come off easy.
