Years ago we obtained an 8n that had a 'good' motor but the differential was out of it. Found the parts to fix it, hooked the plows to it, and took it down to the garden for the spring plowing. I made my first pass, got to the far end and turned around. I couldn't see the other end of the garden due to all the smoke. We still have that tractor today and it was named 'Smokey'. However, it did receive an overhaul shortly afterward so it isn't quite so smokey anymore but the name has stuck.

I'm not the one who names the tractors,,, It's my wife that does that. (and I'll have to admit, I like seeing her take part in it, rather than give me a hard time) OK, she has named the Ford 2N "Wilber" and my Massey 65 with a loader "Hank"

Judging from the other posts, I might be a little strange. My 641 is "Agnes", and my MH Pony is "Lucy"!

My tractor is named, "McNugget," because it is built up out of so many parts, needs many more parts, was spared becoming a parts tractor...

I don't want to offend anyone but I call her the BIT**. After all she I spend a lot of time working her, riding her, and she gets presents all the time (new parts). What else could I call her and be sure that my lovely wife knows she is still #1

I don't want to offend anyone but it is lovingly called the BIT**. Not in a mean way but really, I spend all of my free time working on or riding her, she is always getting presents... What else could I call her so that my lovely wife would know what I was talking about.

If married, and if your own a number of tractors, never convey names/numbers/types to one's spouse.
