There has been lots of talk lately about the box blade, some use the teeth and some don't,like me I guess its according to if you are taking down a hump or fine grading.I was just wondering what you guys use for weight on your blade,or if you use any.I use a 16"X 16"Concrete flue block. in the center of the blade.I suppose it weighs about 80 lbs.It seems to give just a little "Down Pressure" and very affordable...R.M. What do you normally use Ed. I have one of those Atlas Blades.I guess it would be considered medium or light weight. Not near as heavy as Jims,it works ok with the teeth but when grading close it wants to ride over the dirt or gravel sometimes..I guess the railroad rail is also a pretty good idea huh..R.M. I use a 7' LandPride box blade. It weighs over 400 lbs all by itself. I've never needed any extra downforce for it to work.

I'm in the process of building a box blade and plan on a piece of railroad rail (136 lBs per 3') for xtra weight. Have used one on my back blade for years and it really makes a difference. Good luck with yours.
