my uncle bought this tractor new. in the 40s he passed away about 10 years ago the tractor sat and my aunt recently gave it to me I brought it back to life and have a great deal of fun with it. the ser.# was welded over it has grey tin red chaissis 3 speed tranny frount mount dist.right & and left side brake pedals no running boards,3spoke steering wheelw/coating on outter wheel only.oil & amp gauges only thanks Ron

You can look on the rear axle trumpets and find some date codes. You can also check the site below to help narrow it down some. Look under the Identify link.

Who knows? If you don't have the serial #, it's next to impossible to narrow down the year, other than to say that it's between 1939 and 1947, and either a 9N or 2N Ford.

Yep, what Ron from Il said. Unless someone has a lot more information than he and I do.
You might ask your Aunt if there's any old paperwork for it around anywhere. She may possibly have something that'd give you some clues.

look on the rear axel trumpets. it isnt the exact date, but close enough.

for an exact date crawl under the tractor and look at the bottom of the hydraulic pump. there should be a date printed near the middle fill plug.

I think the hyd pump date code is only on the 8N. Have you seen a date code on a 9N/2N in that spot? I'll have to look again next time I'm examining a 9N/2N.
