I am having problems with my starter getting stuck, I have to remove the starter to fix this problem.

Seem like this has happen after converting to 12 volts but it just may seem that way.

Anybody had this happen before?

I'd try replacing the starter drive/clutch assembly if the shaft looks OK and isn't all gunked up. If the shaft is all greased up or nasty I'd follow Mikes advice and clean it up as a first try. If it continues after cleanup I'd try the starter clutch. Finally if it's still hanging you may have to bite the bullet and do the ring gear thing. Check out the armature shaft closely when you have your starter out. I had a bent one on my 9N and had to replace the whole starter($100).
Good Luck, Lee

Stuck as in jambed on the flywheel?? That's the early signs of a worn out ring gear..... I'll bet you know the fix for THAT!!! duey

Clean that shaft really good and don't put any sort of grease/oil/lubricant on it.
