Was playing around with the bush hog on my 2N. I had the pto disconnected and I set the chains so the hog was centered on the tractor and at the proper height. Then I fiddled with the top link length.
Ended up setting the length so that there was no tension on the top link. If I put tension on the top link then the draft control started doing it's thing even though the control lever was all they way down. Seems the draft control responds to pressure on the top link when the hog starts pivoting on the chains and lift arms.
With the hog hanging on the chains and setting on its idler wheel you can adjust your adjustable top link to find the loose spot. You might have to take the weight off with the hydraulics. It's a loose spot at least one full easy turns long.
Anyway, that's my thinking on the subject.
