Bob, does your Super A have a magneto? I just assumed they all did, if it does, then all you are doing is converting the charging system. If it has a distributor,,,, then I just learned sumpin new about Donna's lawn mower which I converted to 12 volts about 12 years ago for the lighting system. Later

Forget the idiot light, go buy a universal auto ignition switch and run the P1 wire to the accessory terminal on the switch. Problem solved, no extra light to mount.

Bob..... ....you can't hang a heavy ceramic power resistor from small solid wires and NOT have it break on you. You have to physically support the heavy HOT power resistor and NOT dangle it.

I'll make a guess that that resistor you are refering to is a 10 ohm 10 watt power resistor, used to electrically isolate the P-1 "excite" alternator terminal so you can turn OFF your engine when you turn-off the ignition switch.

The gm #194 trailer marker lamp used as an "idiot light" does the same thing, electrically isolates the P-1 alternator terminal.

Eather one works just fine for isolating the alternatore P-1 "excite" terminal.

Infact they are just 2 of 8 ways that I know of to isolate the excite terminal so your tractor turns off..... ...Dell
