I understand you can put the sleeves in the freezer and then they basically just slide right in. Is this correct ?? Also, do you use loc-tite or anything to bond them to the block ?? Thanks

Just freezing the sleeves is not enough. They will only go down about 1 inch before getting stuck. Then you will have to go get the 1/2 inch steel plate you should have obtained from the start. Take it from me, I tried.

Heating the block AND freezing the sleeves "should" work. But you have to work quickly. Make sure the recess in the block that receives the top of the sleeve is clean and everything is ready to go before you remove the light and take the sleeve out of the freezer.

Sam, The best way to install dry sleeves is to place sleeves in freezer to get them to aprox 30 degrees. Then heat bore to 200 degrees with heater, heat lamp, or torch.(Infered temp guns are very affordable and come in handy in deals like this) Then the sleeves should slide right in.If you try to install N series ford sleevs at room temp it is very easy to give them one extra hit and break off the flange that sets them in bore.Hope this help, Jason

When I put new sleeves in my NAA, I stuck them in the freezer for a little while and then drove them in place by laying a 1/2" thick piece of steel on top of the sleeve and driving it in with a hammer. They went right in. If I remember right Zane told me to do it this way. Oh I didn't use anything on the sleeve.
