Converted my 9N to 12 volts. One question. How do I hook up the ampmeter wires? Right now I have the wires in series with the ignition switch. I would love to see a wiring diagram for a 1 wire alternator

You have it right. You are now watching what is going to and coming out of the battery.

Ron..... ...the ORIGINAL 9N ammeter was a "loop" style where the large YELLOW battery charge wire went thru the loop. If'n you have the 2-terminal replacement ammeter, then the large yellow charge wire has to be "cut" and connected to the ammeter terminals.

Traditionally, ammeters display or read (+) for charging the battery, doesn't matter positive or negative ground, 6 or 12 volt, its POSITIVE for charging the battery. And if your ammeter reads the "wrong" direction, just swap the leads. And NO, it won't hurt the ammeter to read wrong, just messes up your mind and eyeballs (grin)..... ....Dell
