I have a Jubilee that has needed brakes and rear wheel hubs (edges were rounded off).....I purchased 2 Hubs from when Cental Tractor when they went out last year making sure they were the right part # .....I never got around to them till this weekend.....With all the rain we have had that's about all you could do is inside work....I pulled everything off ....no problem cleaned everything up .....still no problem.....mounted the brakes and the hubs on the drums....still no problem....adjust my shims ...etc.....The ONLY THING left was to put the brake drums , with the new hubs installed , and the wheels back on..... ..To my surprise the hubs would not fit on the axle....I measured the splines on the new hubs and they are wider then those that are on the axle....the splines on the shaft don't look bad or damaged .....Do I have old axle / new hubs or some other bad combination or were these hubs mismarked and are for something else that comes close..... Came THIS cloooose to being able to say , changing brakes and hubs , no big deal , 5 minute job....Any opinions greatly appreciated ....Alan

Alan..... ..Did you to try to dry fit the hubs on the axles by them self? I just got my Jubilee running after replace axles, hubs, bearings, brakes and seals. Only problem I had (with help from this board and the manual) was waiting for parts. You said ‘mounted the brakes and the hubs on the drums’ Why would you not mount: brake anchor plate, brakes , hub and then brake drum? Each of these have to line-up. Seems it would be easer to align each one separating than try to align all at the same time. Am I missing something? I pulled left trumpet to repair leaking pin and when I tried to reinstall, would not line-up. Thought it was the studs. After pulling most of them, I realized that the diff. had dropped down and the bearing were not lining-up and that was what was hitting. Had to install right axle to hold diff. up to align bearing for left trumpet installation.

Had good experience yesterday. Neighbor was mowing with 4 wheel drive JD and bat wing mower. He got stuck on about a 30 degree, two hundred foot incline. The same one I was on when I stripped hubs. Same hill, different field. Had to go pull him out with my Jubilee..... ..E. Ray

There you go! You thought you were in charge and on top of it.... These dang tractors have a way of teaching us humility huh? Reminders to let us know who's boss.
