Anybody ever hear of a combination sand blaster and pressure washer? I had a guy come to work on my compressor and he told me that he had borrowed one from his neighbor and it was great. The sand didn't fly around. You just let the water run off and sweep up the sand. Probably didn't use it indoors.

I am sold on it! These parts had 3 coats of paint on them. I used the Sand Water mix with 3200 psi 4.5 gpm 11 1/2 hp Presure Washer and it just strips off the paint. You have to wear rain gear and a face sheild for bouncing sand. I recomend a good hat or bating cap over the ears and hair, rubber boots and jump right in and have fun. You get wet but it is cool in the summer. I did my power wagon in the winter and got ice on it and it was cold! If you use it on engines you better tape off any hole or seal good!! It will remove the rust and paint down to bare. If you spray it with Castrol Purple Parts cleaner after washing it won't rust when it drys. Then after it is dry wire brush it shiny or while it is drying you can do it till it drys the metal and there will be no rust to wory about. The wire brush will polish the metal and remove the pitting from the sand also. These fenders were ready for paint after the wire brush polised them. I tape my wrists off to keep water from going down into my armpit. Mark H.

The presure washers are but not sure about the sand injecting tip. You could allways buy the tip and use it on the rental. I think they fit all the guns due to same style quick release treads on the wand. Mark H.

I used one (rented it) and it was good. It did a nice job and it kept the dust down and removed the paint and rust nicely. Recommend it. 9N'er

Willy-N put us on to the one he has from Northern Tool. I checked it out and it was on sale at the time for $39.95. I like it works well and no need to wear heavy hot protective gear other than face and eyes, I put a longer wand extention on my pressure washer, stand back and enjoy the cooling mist in the hot FL sunshine. My pressure washer is 3500psi, I expect you would not want less. Willy-N might add a little more as he uses his more than I use mine.

Good point about the cooling mist. I was sandblasting a bumper and grill the other day and with my hood, breathing gear, extra eye protection, protective coveralls and boots I was sweating like a pig by the time I was done!

Check with Mark H (Willy N). He uses one a lot and really likes it.

I tried one once. They work fairly well. Real slow it was. Was blasting a log trailer 45ft long to paint. I would not spend the money on one until you borrowed one and tried it. It gets the the stuff off but I was not impressed. Do you know how wet you get using a pressure washer? Well go roll in a sand pile when your done that is how I ended up. There are some that probably love them.

My 2¢

Jim
