You've got the answer below for JUMPING the tractor using a 12 volt battery. For CHARGING a 6 volt battery with a 12 volt charger, me, I'd use a 6 volt headlamp connected in series with the battery being charged and just use my 12 volt charger. Not a perfect arrangement but could get you by on the odd occasion...a smaller lamp or bulb will reduce the charge rate.... duey

I'll try to remember to look tomorrow evening when I get home for the model number.

Flea markets are also a good place to pick up 6 v chargers...I bought a Sears model....4 amp job for 2 bucks a couple weeks ago...had to replace the power cord though....but...it works great.

You place your tractor gearbox in neutral, throttle 1/3, ignition switch on. Connect negative side of a real 12 volt battery to the starter motor STUD and ground the battery POSITIVE to anywhere you can clamp. And crank-away.

I HAVE NEVER BEEN SUCCESSFUL using ANY CHARGER as a booster starter (even those labled as starter booster), they always barf their gutts and lett the smoke out. You do know electrical stuff runs on smoke don't you? Let the smoke out and they quit runnin'..... .....Dell

I keep one that has a 6 and a 12 volt toggle with the jump booster. I've used it on Chigger and on my bay boat successfully. Cheap $40 Sears model. Gives just enough of a bump that a well tuned engine will start.

6v chargers can be hard to find but TSC has a 6v/12v charger for $25! I also got one of those 12v jump boxes for like $30 on sale. Love em both!
